Paul Lee-Davis Charity Event Hailed A Big Success

On January 7th, the Paul Lee-Davis Memorial Karting event was held as a special fund raiser at Whilton Mill to support the Paul Lee-Davis Trust Fund. Organised, in memory of a much beloved, devotee of the karting community, Paul Lee Davis, who sadly recently lost his year-and-a-half long battle with a rare form of leukaemia. The fund has been set up to provide fun days out, treats or a break away for other young adults aged 17-40 who are receiving treatment for any type of leukaemia or lymphoma, at the haematology unit at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton.

Welcome Improvements to start 2012

Due for completion in two weeks’ time the quiet road through Whilton Locks will be transformed by Whilton Mill’s new ostentatious main entrance!  Now resembling something the Greeks would try to invade, the main entrance is protected by two walls reaching a height of up to seven feet.  Plus, the improvements have included widening the road making the narrowest area in the entranceway over twenty feet across.  Ample room for the ‘Olympic’ sized motor homes to come and go with ease on race meet weekends at Whilton Mill.

SWB Driver Shootout at Whilton Mill on 10th December

A chilly, icy morning at Whilton Mill was the setting for the SWB shootout event.   The drivers and spectators were flabbergasted upon arrival by the awe inspiring view of the SWB hospitality bus, race transporters and awnings of which housed three Formula Renaults and two Rotax karts.  One could argue this was a little excessive but SWB clearly demonstrated bravado and swagger that would match that of any other kart team.

The Name’s Mill...Whilton Mill

Gary Powell and his stunt team take a break from filming the latest Bond movie “Skyfall” to test their new “Jade karts” at Whilton Mill.  Currently working nights at a secret location - the team could not resist the temptation to exchange well earned rest for more adrenaline fuelled action.
