FAQs
See below for our most frequently asked questions, if your question isn’t on the list please give us a call we’re always happy to help.
What should I wear on the day?
Whatever you feel comfortable in. Although we provide protective race suits we do recommend casual clothing. Layers are great as you can take them off if you get warm during your activity and trainers or casual boots or shoes are the best footwear. We also recommend that you dress for the weather; if it’s wet, waterproofs and a change of clothes would be good. No matter how good the weather please do not wear open toed shoes or sandals.
What time should I arrive?
You should have an arrival time on your booking form, which is the time your event manager will be expecting you. If you are running late please don’t panic but give us a quick telephone call so that we know what is happening.
What happens on the day?
Please leave yourself plenty of time to arrive as everyone is normally eager to get started! You will have already completed our pre-registration form so please just sign in. Your team will receive a thorough safety briefing and instruction on the event and activity. If you have selected an arrival catering option this will be served before you go on to your first activity.

No experience is required for any of the activities as full instruction is given.
Should I bring any money?
There are vending machines selling chocolate and drinks. Please be aware that at present Whilton Mill does not have a cafeteria - there is nowhere to purchase food and drinks on the day. However we offer a variety of catering packages that can be pre booked for your event ranging from Breakfast on arrival through to Lunch/Dinner and even the great British Afternoon tea.
Can I bring spectators?
Of course! Please remember to include them within your catering package.
On Whilton Kart Club Race days there is a small charge, please ask for further information.
What about the weather?
Ah the British weather, who knows what it may throw at us! Despite this Whilton Mill is open all year round. However, safety is our number one priority so we may have to cancel an event if snow and ice prevent the activities from being safe or providing you with a great experience! Other than that we’re ready whatever the weather and dedicated to offering a fantastic event rain or shine.
What else do I need to know?
If you have valuables with you on the day we encourage you to leave them with your events manager. This will ensure nothing gets lost or damaged whilst doing an activity.
What if my numbers attending change last minute?
Please keep us informed, we will need to know 72 hours before your event due to the preparation and staffing levels required.
